Omolola Olorunbiyi

Research Fellow

Omolola is currently a research fellow at the African Center for Innovation and Leadership Development (ACILD), where she focuses on advancing public health research and data-driven strategies for impactful development. Previously, Omolola served as a program assistant at ACILD, where she facilitated and managed the Nutrido after-school program in partnership with secondary schools in Abuja, Nigeria. She also contributed to project planning and implementation and supported grant proposal development. Omolola holds a master’s degree in Environmental Biology and Public Health from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria, and she is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Health Promotion within the Health and Rehabilitation Sciences program at Western University, Canada. Her research interests focus on infectious diseases, neglected tropical diseases, environmental health, and implementation science. She has contributed to several research initiatives, including one examining barriers and facilitators in school-based praziquantel mass drug administration in Nigeria. She was also actively involved in the mass drug administration program for schistosomiasis organized by the Federal Ministry of Health in Abuja, Nigeria.  In addition to her academic and career pursuits, Omolola is committed to community service and supporting underserved populations. She enjoys watching movies, sewing, and playing games in her free time.
